About Us – The Prayer Wheel Shop
Hi! My name is Shea Whitsett and i’m the owner and prayer wheel artist at The Prayer Wheel Shop. So, about us…..The Prayer Wheel Shop started in 2006 while I was living in Arizona at the Garchen Buddhist Institute. There I was studying Buddhism under the guidance of HE Garchen Rinpoche, an incredible Tibetan Buddhist master. It was due to his influence and love of the practice of spinning prayer wheels that I began making Tibetan Buddhist style prayer wheels.
My Teachers HE GARCHEN RINPOCHE and VENERABLE TRAGA RINPOCHE
At first I started making them to give away to fellow meditators. I never imagined that so many people would soon be asking me to make these prayer wheels that I would have to quit my job to make them full time. Since then The Prayer Wheel Shop has grown and turned into a group of several Buddhist meditators working together to offer the highest quality prayer wheels and Buddhist artwork available in world. Our business is guided by the Buddhist principles of bodhichitta(love) and right livelihood. We strive to make artwork that inspires love and mindfulness in the world around us, thereby benefiting all beings.
