Description
Cherry Burl Prayer Wheel
This is our standard size prayer wheel. The barrel and handle is made out of magnificent cherry burl. Top and bottom out of maple wood, sustainably harvested in our home state Oregon.
Note: Burl wood is inherently imperfect and almost always has holes, voids and bark inclusions. This imperfection is what gives figured woods their beauty. We fill voids with a golden dust epoxy and stabilize all pieces to be as durable and lasting as any piece of wood. Make sure to look at the pictures and be aware of this before deciding that a burl wood prayer wheel is right for you.
This perfect size was developed over many years of trial and error. It is large enough to contain a substantial amount of mantras, yet small enough to carry around easily and also be spun for hours without resulting in fatigue.
The handle length is between 5 and 6 inches. The handle has an ergonomic grip which comfortably facilitates the slight muscle movements needed to spin the prayer wheel without it feeling awkward in the hand.
Inside it contains 40 million Avalokiteshvara mantras, 2 million Green Tara and 750.000 Medicine Buddha mantras printed on microfilm. It spins effortlessly on high quality lifetime ball bearings using a beautiful egyptian crystal as a spinner that is attached with a sturdy yet elegant chain.
The top design is a special “Tara’s nipple” design developed following the advice of His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche.
All our prayer wheels are finished with a non toxic all natural wood finish and produced with 100% renewable electricity.
